Split personalities? That's cool! I've loved split personalities in video game characters ever since playing Xenogears.
I finally finished these damn questions >.< This took forever. I added the PDF so you can see the difference. Normal is everyone talking together, italics is the darker side and underlined is the brighter side.
This is my first post on here . Currently, I have two characters with backstories (though one is far undeveloped). I know the first one might seem cliché, but I write these kinds of backstories as I enjoy them (and I write what comes naturally, in regards to the character, if you get what I mean) and I'm sick of the Stuffed In The Fridge and pointlessly/lazily dead mother/wife/girlfriend/sister/aunt/general female close to a male character trope and stories: Here is my main character (I haven't thought of a name for the other characters yet, I suck at names): Name: Tiamat Greyjoy ((I know...I know...)) Age: 19-years-old Gender: Female Height: 155.3cm Birthday: 7th Sun of the 3rd Umbral Moon ((they confuse me)) Race: Miqo'te - Keeper of the Moon ((I wish they looked like the original design for the Mithra, the less cliché, more jungle-cat-like design)) Laterality: Right-handed Deity: Halone, The Fury Family: Mother (She is tall, with dark grey eyes, black hair and tail, which the tail being lion-shaped) Father (Deceased; aged thirty-seven. Possessed white hair and tail, purple eyes a normal tail) Older Brother (Deceased; aged twenty-five, had white hair, purple eyes, and a fluffy tail) Grandmother Paternal Aunt Appearance: ((Normally, I put great detail into describing my characters, feeling that it is lazy to just have or draw a picture (and I suck at drawing), but I suppose I can make an exception here. I tried to make her more unique looking, to my preferences, and not like every other female Miqo'te in the whole of the game - fluffy or default tail, pallid-skinned, pink/blue/green/white hair). I'm glad so few females have the lion tail, for example XD)): (Sitting on her bed, in her sleeping attire, in her home and Grand Company City States receptively) (Giving her father his weekly visit) (Giving her brother his weekly visit) (Helping less experienced adventures with her friend Dave Coin - the acting healer in purple) Personality: Tiamat is an independent, direct, stoic young woman. She is prone to sarcasm, and not afraid of speaking her mind. She also inherited her mother’s dislike of female healers and bards (though, as time went on, there became one exception…). However, she also tends to boast and manipulate, as she enjoys being in change, despising taking orders from others, especially when the person she is fooling does not know they are being controlled. Her trust is hard to gain, but when it is, it can take a lot to break it. She does not seem to realise that her great protectiveness of her friends and comrades shows her caring side. This rose to self-endangering levels after the death of her brother. Finally, unlike most people, she does not see the Garlean Empire as irredeemably evil and holds a soft spot for chocobos and moogles. Story: Tiamat Greyjoy was born in Ul'dah, the home of her family for two generations, and lived with her brother, mother and father. Despite their dwelling in the city, they remain loyal to their Black Shroud tribe. Ever since she was small, Tiamat admired Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn, leader of the Maelstrom. This, combined with her lust for adventure, drove her to seek training to become a Warrior. She began her training at age seven, with books as her mentor, as a gladiator. Her mother, a somewhat aloof woman, even as a small child, hated the lack of prominent females in the marauder and gladiator ranks, hating that most females choose healing and support. Therefore, she chose to join the ranks of the axe wielders. She works as the bodyguard for her chieftainess and family, while her mate looks after their children, though she often visits them. Her mate grew up fascinated with the beast tribes, and had wanted to become a Summoner, but did not possess enough magical power. Instead, he took on the job of Bard (with goldsmithing on the side), liking the idea of watching over his companions and taking down enemies at a distance, thought it took a while for him to gain confidence enough to sing. Their first-born child was a boy, who, as an avid campaigner of peace and unity between the Enlightened Races and Beast Tribes, became a White Mage, and was happy he still had time to weave and cook for fun. Along with every other adventurer in the land, the three of them were called to serve in the Battle of Carteneau. They hid Tiamat, six years her brother’s junior, with her paternal aunt and grandparents. In the destruction of Bahamut’s release, her injured father, buried under rubble, lost his life. Her mother, one of the injured being carried away by those brave and lucky, could not save him. Surprisingly, it was his son who was most deeply affected. He admired his father for his talents and that he took after him. With sorrow still in his heart, Tiamat’s brother went back to travelling in an attempt to cheer up. After a few of weeks of healing others and himself, he was back to his cheerful, optimistic self. Their mother, on the other hand other, too a few months to return to her bodyguard duty. A year passed without anything more disturbing the family. Then Tiamat’s brother returned home to announce he and the party he had formed were going to explore Cutter’s Cry. Nineteen-year-old Tiamat, Echo-chosen and in training as a marauder in the Mealstrom (having grown tired of being a gladiator), volunteered to replace the current protector. While her real reason was a desire to protect her brother, she covered it with the excuse, ‘give the man a break’ and ‘home her skills’. Her brother, while endeared by the offer, turned it down with a farewell hug and ruffling of the hair. He died along with their Paladin (a male Lalafell), not even halfway through. Their Black Mage and Monk companions managed to escape narrowly, but still feel deeply guilty and cowardly. But none felt as guilty his sister. If only she had insisted more, if only she had convinced him... While her mother transformed into a woman cold to everyone but her family, she became completely focused on following the path of a Warrior of Light (whereas before, she tended to do such things only when she could be bothered). Abilities and Weapon: As a gladiator, she bore the swiftness and short-swords and daggers of the profession, but now, as a marauder and Warrior, she wields the formidable great axe. While she is not the fastest fighter, and has not even a spark of magic within her (bar the gladiator’s talent of ‘flashing’ enemies), her raw power and high endurance from years of training, along with a good healer near her, have pulled her through some of the toughest fights. She has muscles built up from this and her side-job as a miner, to make extra Gil. Extra: When frustrated or nervous, she pulls at her ears, and when idle, holds her tail. My second character ((males like this are so rare and I love them)): Name: M’ariko Tia Age: 24-years-old Gender: Male Height: 159.2cm Birthday: 15th Sun of the 6th Astral Moon Race: Miqo’te - Seeker of the Sun ((I also thought about making him a Lalafell or a Roegadyn, but something told me that Miqo’te suited him the most)) Laterality: Left-handed Deity: Menphina, The Lover Family: Mother Father Appearance: ((He won't show up on the database)) so: M’ariko is a fairly short Seeker of the Sun, with somewhat pale skin and pale pink hair in a neat bob with a fringe that slopes to the right. His eyes are a brilliant sapphire blue (cliché, I know), and have a 'point' near the top of the drooping lids, and he has full, pink lips and a white butterfly painted on his right cheek. His tail is fluffy and fairly long. Finally, he holds little muscle. ((not my most interesting description, but it will do for now)) Personality: A man painfully shy (especially when it comes to women), he is gentle, kind and polite. His most prominent traits are his strong dislike of violence and fondness for children. He cares as deeply for his and family as he does for strangers. He tends to be quiet fearful in battle, and has almost ran away a few times, but due to the support of a certain woman (another character, a Roegadyn Paladin) in those tough times, he has remained. Finally, he thinks summoning is cruel, believing that no-one has the right to control someone (or something) else. Story: M'ariko grew up in a small ‘Tree Tribe’ in the north of the Black Shroud. While males and female alike went off to explore the world or fight for their keep or against the Garlean Empire, he remained at home with his parents, educating himself on Primals, his fascination, and helping raise the tribe's younglings. Eventually, as entered his twenty-fourth year, his parents managed to persuade him to go out into the world. Hoping to gain confidence and learn more about the Primals, he headed to Gridania, to sign up as an adventurer. Imagine his surprize when he encountered one in person. Abilities and Weapon: As a pacifist and conjurer (soon to be White Mage), he uses no weapons, but knows that sometimes, his staff must be used to harm. As a healer, he has next to no muscle tone, but thanks to his Miqo’te genes, is surprisingly resilient, with great stamina. There we go.
I would say more, but right now, I just love this character ^_^. And no need to apologize for the wall of text (in my regard). I like them. Sorry my reply is so short in response.
I'm hoping to find a strong man I can include in my story. My character is so helpless without one. A nice rugged manly one.
How about the one in your avatar? Looks cheery as well. Gara could not help you. You refuse to share food.
I realize that when I copy and pasted it, it didn't keep the formatting I head so you can know which personality was talking.
I like all the characters and stories that I've read, I know that's a little all-inclusive but they really are fun to read and very creative. It makes me wish I had money so I could actually renew my account and continue my adventures in Eorzea~ --- Double Post Merged, Dec 20, 2013 --- I think I could at least tell them apart from their answers. All the parts that mention marmots were especially funny to me... poor marmots.
Yeah that bad sad can be very naughty. I attached tje PDF of it so it could keep the formatting. They argue a lot at times, but they get along well enough. I love the edit button lol --- Double Post Merged, Dec 20, 2013 --- What server are you on? King Kredo may need you in his League of Evil.
Here is my "100 Questions to Ask Your Roleplay Character" Submission. Sorry that she goes on about her brother a lot. BTW, Dave Coin is not the healer I mentioned in the questions. And sorry I use the term "Company mates" a lot. Damn PFD, ruining all my lovely formatting. I'm not sure what happened with the whole 'only one number' thing.
