What you most excited for in Stormblood?

    With June not that far off and news and previews coming all over the places what are some of thing that got you most hype?

    • Bards getting a flute
    • Battle Actions in /gpose
    • New Primals
    • Story
    • Flying wolf mounts

    For me it's just being able to play the game again with new content and be able to level all my classes to the new max.

    Story. Not that I care terribly about the plot points they've introduced, I just like having a story arc.

    (1) Crafting, (2) Crafting, and (3) Crafting.

    Due to the unpopularity and the many complaints with the specialist system in HW, they are changing it in SB. How? We don't. To be frank, I am anxious and concerned rather than excited about this part of crafting. I am, however, very excited about new skills, and can't wait to try them out in new combos/rotations.

    Haven't heard any crafting new so far but that red scrips and the new yellow scripts won't have weekly locks which is good I guess heh

    Optimistic:
    1. Combat system update, especially the job specific UI they've talked about
    2. Permanent Enochian. Not having it fall off when there's nothing to hit will be a huge quality of life improvement
    3. New Primal fights. With few exceptions, these have been my favorite bosses throughout the game's life. I'm excited to see what's next.

    Cautiously Optimistic:
    1. Red Mage. the concept is cool and the armor is badass. My only concern is that they'll have animation lock problems similar to DRG jumps.
    2. Samurai. My biggest hope is that we can finally get a melee that isn't married to skill chains. Always hitting the same abilities in the same order makes the current jobs feel more like different specializations of the same class than unique entities.
    3. Omega. In stark contrast to the Primal battles, the fights I've done in Coil and Alex have felt uninspired and more like numbers checks than mechanically demanding encounters.

    That is something I'd actually like to try eventually. I had heard good things about the latter encounters in Coil but never got to experience them since the game failed to hold my interest after my disappointment in T1-5.

    I'm so excited! And I just can't hide!

    No, seriously. I'm so ready for Stormblood. Due to school, I had to quit raiding in October (and it was my first glimpse at what a real static is like). Now that I started playing again with school being over, I can't wait for Stormblood. My schedule won't be as congested as it was this year so I finally plan on being a real FINAL FANTASY XIV player™. I'm going to play as Red Mage, try to find a raiding group, and be the elite I've always wanted to be. :swoon:

    Oh yeah- the story should be cool too.

    I am quite shocked you would think Coil that way... I thought T5 and T9, as "gate keepers", were very mechanically demanding... I felt so happy beating T5 and T9 back then, not because I met some "number checks", but because I beat the mechanics! And even non-gate-keeper Coils like T7 was very mechanic-heavy.

    I never liked T1, T2 and T4 though (T3 has no fight! LOL!). And I also dislike some Alex's. But in general, they're all filled with mechanics.

    2. Pre order Bonus xp for lvling jobs to 50. It's going to help a lot with any alts I make.
    3. "Jump" potion. Making alts viable for me and not need to spend a week of my life grinding the story.
    4. Samurai being unlockable at Lvl50.
    5. The new housing ward looks awesome and I hope I can buy a house.

    I love new content in general, and I'm ready to say goodbye to WAR. It's done me well this xpac but I'm excited to see where RDM takes me in my adventures!

    Q: In Patch 3.0 we had the Specialist system. Are there any plans to add new features for Disciples of the Land and Hand in Patch 4.0?
    A: There won't be any new system, however, we have made various adjustments, which includes Specialist adjustments based on feedback we received.

    Q: With the level cap increase, do you have plans to add new Specialist actions, as well as make adjustments to existing ones?
    A: New Specialist actions will be added, and we're also planning to adjust existing actions where players can gain additional effect only when they are a Specialist. So the Specialist system will be improved overall.

    Q: Will the weekly restrictions on blue scrips and red scrips continue to be used in Patch 4.0, or will there be a new token for Disciples of the Land and Hand?
    A: Blue scrips will be retired in Patch 4.0. Red scrips will remain; however, the weekly restrictions will be removed. Additionally, we're adding a yellow scrips for level 70, and they won't have any weekly restrictions either. Therefore, the weekly restrictions for both Disciples of the Land and Hand will be no more.

    Q: With the level cap being increased, I believe the maximum amount of GP we can have will increase. Will the speed in which GP recovers increase?
    A: The speed won't change; however there is a new trait which will increase the speed for GP recovery. Players will be able to obtain this trait through the class quest series, so make sure to do them!

    As an additional note, players will only learn one action for their job/class through quests. These actions are received as a reward for completing the job/class quest series, so until then, the story will be the key element for these quests. For Disciples of War and Magic, I believe you can complete all the job quests at one time when you hit level 70; however, for Disciples of the Land and Hand, the story is directly tied into the gathering/crafting, so please complete them in order.

    Q: I play mainly as a fisher so I'm looking forward to gathering while underwater. Are there any plans to implement this?
    A: All gatherers will have a new underwater gathering feature implemented. For fishers, spearfishing will be added.

  19. I think I missed the parts about the battle system being updated? What does that entail exactly?

    I'm just excited to level two new jobs. I already got everything to 60 and ilvl 269-270 for the jobs that I regularly play (WAR, DRK, AST, SCH, SMN, BLM, and MCH). Been testing out the waters with DRK and so far I kind of like it. It's different than WAR for sure and seems a lot more clunky since I have to keep pressing Dark arts before using an action for higher DPS.

    I saw that WAR finally got a gap closer which I thought they should have had since 2.0. Would make more sense for them to have it before any of the other tanking jobs or jobs because WAR is a beast and craves blood. XD

    I'll probably be dropping SMN and or BLM for RDM depending on new abilities. Doesn't really make sense to gear and play 3 casters. XD

    I don't particularly like melee dps but we will see. I already have lvl 50-60 gear ready for both RDM and SAM.

    As for the healers...SCH has always been my favorite since 2.0. I just find it very lack luster in the DPS department lately since the DPS rotation is pretty much 2.0 Arcanist and the output isn't even all that great for all the complex rotation you have to do. So I'm kind of hoping they upgrade SCH DPS and healing prowess. The nerf to lustrate still bothers me. I want to stay in Cleric and cast lustrate. XD Not fair that WHM can Bene in Cleric without penalty. XD

    AST has been my go to healer lately and will probably continue well into Stormblood for raiding. I like the cards and the buffing mechanics and I hope they build upon it.

    I still probably end up playing both but we will see who gets the nerf bat. XD I'll probably try and rein in the number of jobs I'll be playing this time around. It's exhausting leveling and gearing 7 jobs. XD

    They said they trying for job specific UIs and other improvements. Think the only thing they said as an example was something like maybe giving DRGs a bar to look at BoD instead of a timer. No one really knows what it is yet. Monday's Live Letter suppose to focus on showcasing the new looks and system.
