That! Telling everyone that it's your first time REALLY REALLY helps. Most of them will suddenly go easier on ya.

As a joke, that's pretty funny :hilarious: I liked it! But in reality, that's probably not a good idea, as you will miss out any useful advice from your group.

    By now, you must know...
Fast Blade -> Savage Blade -> Rage of Halone is your ultimate aggro combo.
The Halone move generates the most aggro on your target when performed in this combo.

Thus, it's your choice to land whatever move in this combo on whatever mob.

If you are holding onto 3 mobs, while the DPS are hitting very hard on mob #1, and your aggro bar is only barely above the other players on mob#1, then you probably want to keep all your combo moves on #1. If you see mob#1 is nice & secure (your aggro bar wayyy ahead), then it's a good time to rotate mobs with each combo move just to see what the other mobs are at. If you see any other mob's aggro bar for other players are getting real close to your aggro bar, then you probably want to either flash more or land the Halone move on it. A single combo-ed Halone would probably immediately fixes the crisis.

In general, it's all about managing aggro over everything around you. You gotta have a good sense of knowing what mob is generating aggro towards who just by watching what's happening on the screen, and rotating around them to monitor aggro bars to check on things.

To assist you in this process, you do have the enemy list on the left, but if you see ANY icon there not being red (even if it's a bright inverted triangle), then you know you're in danger of being criticized for not keeping aggro. So don't rely on that list for aggro management. The list is there to let you see what's happening, but if you notice something goes wrong on the list, it's already too late. It's like a radar showing a plane is crashing... If you don't even know a plane was crashing even when it was on the radar, that's really bad. But even if you notice it on the radar, it's already too late to save it.

Usually if that happens to me, I'll start throwing out excuses! LOL! Lag!! It was my lag!!! Sorry!!! LOL!

Trust me. Reddit is somewhere I never plan to post about anything at all.

I've never understood the appeal of Reddit. Is it just because a lot of people are there?

As an information source on new content/bugs/tips&tricks; Reddit is fine. As a community, or social focal point; its a toilet.

I never understood the allure of reddit either because that's where all the trolls are usually. However there are some individuals that post quality information. Unfortunately that's few and far between. Plus you really have to filter what you look for to avoid all that.

I like to find Reddit threads with information via Google, lol. I'd never dare open my mouth on a Reddit thread though. In terms of community it's a toilet.

Update #2: Just did another 2 Guildheists for practice. Currently I'm opening with Shield Lob, using flash 2 times, then using Fast Blade into Savage Blade. Got 2/3 Player Commendations on the first Guildheist, and on the second one I got all 3 Player Commendations!

Well, I always had a certain amount of respect for 4chan because of its self awareness. 4chan knows it is a cesspool and revels in it. Even in very internet-atypical interest boards like /fit/ (full of Crossfit enthusiasts), /pol/ (racist evangelicals), or /biz/ (daytraders and some successful business people), anons still spew memes and call each other names that might be against this site's rules.

Reddit on the other hand, pretends to be highbrow and intelligent even though most subreddits are epic circlejerks and will ferociously downvote anyone who does not share the "house opinion" (visit r/atheism if you don't believe me). People laugh at digg now, but I was on there during its highlight and really it was no worse than reddit is now.

Well done! This maybe purely anecdotal, but I think you can pick up commendations quite quickly with good solid tanking. Maybe it's because your role is quite visible and people are happy if you keep the aggro and let them do their job, i dunno...but, for whatever reason, people are quick to thank good tanks - maybe more often than good DPS. For me, if i tank well in a Guildhest, I can pretty much count of having 2/3 comms - i'll usually give my commendation to the healer unless I see a particularly deadly DPS.

That may be a little unfair, I dunno - and I'm definitely not trying to say "Tanks pick up comms easy". What I'm trying to say is...if you do your job well as a tank, you'll probably get rewarded for it in Guildhests. Basically, you're mega-visible...that's a good and bad thing depending on your performance.

But seriously, well done. I don't want you to think for one second I am trying to demean your achievement - you did good, keep it up! :cheer:

Tanks do get comms easy, but we're also the most likely to get criticism or abuse. It's a role that stands out, but just because tanks get Comms easily doesn't mean you didn't earn them--they wouldn't give you a commendation unless you did a good job and/or you were good company to have, both of which I consider important goals for players to have when running a dungeon.

When dungeoning, I know this is awful for me to do but; I mostly only comm PLDs, and on very rare occasions a WAR.

As a WHM who likes to keep offensive (DPS) uptime, I feel as though PLDs are the only ones with a skillset that enables me to Holy spamm like it's an exorcism, and not die in the process. WARs can do this too if they Berzerk => Bloodbath => Overpower (spamm), but they rarely do.

I comm Casters, because dps turrets dont get no respect.
