    Hey guys,

this is post concerning the ingredient for weavers, diremite web, which drops from those "mite"type mobs,
but where ever I go they are being farmed to death,
and very expensive on the market board....... how are we supposed to level further? :(

Avoid recipes with specialised ingredients like that. I never level crafts by crafting new items. I find an item that is easy to make, at a level close enough to my own. For CRP it's various types of Lumber. Look for something with a basic ingredient that can be gathered using MIN or BTN, and just spam the one item with a GC Engineering Manual and Salt Cod (HQ if possible). I guarantee you that it's faster (and, as you imply, cheaper) than running around getting all these materials for new synths.

Formulas with the same level but with materials that are easier to obtain should always be favoured. Go for ones which require undyed cotton cloth and yarn. Cheaper to buy, several level 23 items that require them beside your Dew Thread (that's the item you're talking about, right?). If you're constantly going for HQ with that item, you'll level faster than someone who is running around getting new materials. If you're going for money, just check the items on the market before you make them. If something isn't worth making (unless for your own gathering or crafting classes), then why make it except for a one-time exp bonus? Not worth it IMO. It's all about time spent relative to exp gained (or xp/ hr).

except that this is not a specialized recipe, but a basic one :( You need lot of Diremite webs..so you have to farm them. Ask the people there to form a group and farm them together. Also you can hit the mob too and get credit for it. Be patient. The next part of Weaver will require lot of "Flax" which happily you get from Botanist :)

It got me for sure :) I am now 28 weaver and the linen have open...also I have around 110 Diremite webs to use if I like to make something useful for my character! It was really easy and I think to continue doing it. I farm cotton ball and I can turn them easily to HQ cotton and Undyed cotton. Now I need to find a good Leve for my Armorer :) to get him to the point of Steel ingot

That Panster Crops quest is awesome. I have been taking my time to really make sure I HQ those Initiate's Slops and am just shy of hitting level 28 after starting at low 26 last night. It can take some time to get the Diremite reward though, which I haven't really been worried about. Just want to keep pushing my weaver along and make my way to dyes and linen. :)

Another really great one for just straight up leveling is Doublet Jeopardy out of Ul'Dah. You create 1 HQ Doublet of Crafting and get 30k XP and 800 gil.

I kept running the Pantser Corps and Cotton sash when they were giving Diremite Webs while doing Doublet Jeopardy over and over for the XP. This got me to 30 last night with enough Diremite Webs to craft all velveteen crafting gear so I am quite pleased.

There is a group of leves at quarrymill that rotates rewards between diremite webs and crystals. One of them lets you turn in items 4 times and only uses 1 leve. I spent some time doing those leves for a few levels and got about 200 diremite webs. Was giving 10 per turn in so each time they offered webs as reward i got 50.

I'm 43 weaver now and i have more dirtmite webs then i know what to do with thanks to spamming that leve quest, if you're quick when you get it as a reward you can cash inn 7 or 8 times before the reward changes

Really? I had about 7-10 HQ slops to turn in on two separate occasions for this leve, and when I was finally able to get diremite webs as a reward, the most I could get in a row was 3, and that was literally just running from leve npc giver to npc finisher.

Also, since you are about 12 levels higher in weaving than I am, at what level did you stop doing this leve? Until you got to linens?

@deneathor if you also have botanist, I would stop on Linens cause you will need to gather 1000000000 in order to level botanist..after level 25 the gathering classes are getting really "hard" to level, meaning you will have tons of materials once you finish them

I had a friend that basically deforested Gridania on her way to 50. She wasn't doing any leves because her main battle class was still only 22. It's doable, but mindnumbing, though some may consider it therapeutic. I'll admit that I enjoy chopping trees. I've not tried mining yet though.

I saw someone using the magitek mount to run between trees. I guess that adds a bit of fun too. I just use a chocobo.

I tried to use leves but I won't do it again...the leves for gathering are not like crafting...turn in x thing and get enormous bonus on HQ. They are like timed events to gather some useless quest items and I can't say they gave so much xp at the end..I better grind usefull materials instead of leves :) So I will join your friend and I will deforest the whole eorzea :)

Yeah it does seem random at times but i've gotten 8 in a row a couple of times when it changes to crystals i usually wait a bit and come back later get a few inn before it changes again

I stopped doing it at around 40 it was a good little money maker for a while but the low EXP compared to the level gaps meant it really wasn't worth doing anymore

Ya I'm planning to keep at it until 32 for the start of flax, but after that I'll be moving on. You're right though, definitely a nice little way to make money and XP

Linen Yarn becomes effectively available at level 28 though, and since you'll need a crazy amount of it you should start making it as soon as possible.

That and Flax is really easy to obtain with a botanist around Camp Tranquil and usually dirt cheap on the Market Boards too.

Wool is more expensive and harder to get again, so push to 40, then complete level 35 leves for Linen Chauses HQ at 71K xp per high quality turn in.
